Xalan-Java version 2.1.0 is the first Xalan release to include the XSLTC translet compiler and runtime, donated to the Xalan project by the Sun XSLTC team. The release also incorporates a number of bug fixes.

Xerces-J 1.4.0 is now ready for prime-time. The most important new feature
in Xerces-J 1.4.0 is full schema support (except for some small limitations
as detailed in the documentation). Other improvements include:

*) Allow loadcacert.cgi script to work inside mod_perl.
*) Fixed typo in the directive descriptions in mod_ssl.c
*) Fixed EAPI context usage in http_request.c: a context pointer
potentially can be NULL requests and can cause a segfault if
dereferenced.
*) Fixed ENGINE support: the engine support is are now already
loaded at configure time. Else mod_ssl fails to find them.
*) Fixed typo in httpd.conf-dist.

The Milestone 3 release offers bug fixes over Milestone 2, plus a new
feature. Jasper now includes Tag pooling, implemented by Casey Lucas.
Tag pooling code is included in each JSP page, but use of the pool is
disabled by default. Refer to the "readme" file found in Tomcat's
"doc" directory for details on enabling this feature.
